100 | Gram | gorgonzola cheese |
8 | Tablespoon | cream |
2 | Tablespoon | butter |
nutmeg | ||
green onion |
Instructions
Cook the gnocchi following the standard cooking pasta instructions. Be careful about the cooking time though as gnocchi will cook very fast compared to dried pasta.
While waiting for the water to boil make the sauce.
Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet, add the gorgonzola cheese and melt on a very low heat.
Add the cream and reduce the sauce for 3-4 minutes.
Drain the cooked gnocchi, put the in the skillet with the sauce and cook it for 1 more minute stirring to coat the dumpling with the cheese sauce.
Remove from the heat, add the ground nutmeg and the chopped green onions.
Serve immediately.
Notes
This sauce will pair well with many other pasta shapes. Short water pasta like farfalle, rigatoni, penne or fusilli can be used to replace the gnocchi
